Jack is s Fatty
Poor Jack. It is official. He is a fatty. The vet said he needs to lose 1/2 a pound at the yearly check up. What is interesting is that I SWEAR Patrick eats more! Patrick must put all his extra calories into growing his nails, because they grow like weeds.
Anyways, since we’ve moved his exercise has increased dramatically, but I’m really making a big effort to get him out and running so he can really burn some fat.

As for Patrick, he is in perfect shape weight wise, but his teeth are worse. Also, I had noticed a weird hopping action out on our walks. My research suggested it might be luxating patella. The vet said his knee is very slightly loose, and suggested we try some Synovi chews to nip it in the bud. Patrick LOVES them and he gets 1/2 a chew daily. The vet said Jack could have 1/2 also so he didn’t feel left out. Luckily for Jack’s weight loss he seems to prefer to roll on them rather than eat them.
Aside from that we are all current on Rabies and Bortadella – we are going back in a few weeks for distemper and possibly a dental for both. Jack has a spare tooth and Patrick just has dirty teeth… I need to look into that drinking water additive!

Poor Jack. It’s not fun dieting. I Butchy gained weight when I became Hypothryoid, and it took a long time to get the weight off. I did it though, hehehe. You could add canned or thawed frozen green beans to your kibble, and have less kibble in the bowl. The green beans make you feel full & are less calories for you. Have a great week!

Poor Jack! I know how you feel buddy. My Mommy called me a fatty too, now I only get two cups of food a day. I try daily to convince her that I’m starving, but it doesn’t work.
